The smaller wedding of your dreams

“Our wedding may be small, but our love is mighty”

The whole idea behind our beloved Barossa Valley Weddings was to bring together some of the suppliers that are the best in the business, spread kindness and support within the community and of course to make your planning easier. We are now living in a time (thanks Covid) where planning your special day is a tiny bit harder, you must factor in any current restrictions and that is of course going to affect your maximum number of guests. So, we love the idea of a micro wedding… up to 50 of your closest friends and family, celebrating together the beginning of your next adventure. We’ve put together a few ideas to make that idea special – and fun!

We instantly think of the backyard, public garden, or venue with an outdoor space, depending on the time of year. With a smaller guest list there’s room in your budget to splurge on the finer details of your day – imagine you and your nearest and dearest having a long table relaxed dinner under festoon lighting between the trees and moonlight… is simply magical.

Don’t forget other parts of your day like the décor – outdoor weddings always make me think of vintage linens, lots of flowers and soft lighting. Perhaps your dress is vintage too or a little more casual, your dress code can go either way, it is entirely up to you! Again, having a smaller number of guests there is more time to get those photos of you and your loved ones having fun and you can also share those later with the people who couldn’t make it. If dancing restrictions are still an issue, perhaps some outdoor games are your style and sure to make everyone have a laugh or maybe a trivia or guessing game.

Having a smaller wedding not only reduces stress in organisation it is also a perfect opportunity to be a little eco-friendlier by minimising the amount of food waste and single use products by having less guests.

We hope these ideas spark some inspiration for you!
